Vixen

1. Vixen reformed in it's current line up in 2002, but only Jan Kuehnemund from the original line up is in the band today. Who's Vixen as a band anno 2005 and what about give us an introduction in who's else in the band?
The new members are:
Jenna Sanz-Agero - lead vocals
Kat Kraft - drums
Lynn Louise Lowrey - bass guitar & vocals
2. Many may wonder why Jan is the only original member left back in the band. Were there never any talk in doing a full reunion or were it a question of to much "bad blood" between the original members, for that to happen and how's people reaction when Vixen is out playing, when they see/hear it's not the original line up?
No, there is no bad blood between us at all...we are all still friends...we tried to do a reunion with 3 of us (Janet, Roxy & myself) in 2001 but things on the tour just weren't working out, and Janet, Roxy, & Share have all given me their blessings and best wishes on continuing with the new line up.
3. The band are working on a new album, and from what it sounds like from the songs for preview on the bands web site it, sounds like the band are heading back to it's rock roots, without the keyboards but more straight ahead rock tunes, but from the last album the band put out, Tangerine, it's also a step away from the modern retro sound of that album?
I was not part of the Tangerine record, so that's why the new stuff does not sound similar to that one... Our new record, which will be completed very soon (!!) is the outcome of the new collaborations within the new lineup, and it is influenced by the talents of the new members!
4. When will the new album come out and have the band secured any deals from around the world for it's release, or will it be released independently?
It is too soon to tell if the new record will be release independently or otherwise...
5. Vixens first two albums have been re-released again through it's old record label EMI. Was it's a demand from fans to have them released once again or was it the record label that approached the band to put it out once more and are there any bonus material following along with it?
The re-release of the first 2 Vixen records came about solely and precisely because a good friend at EMI,(Rick Zaccaro) came to see the VH1 Bands Reunited show, and he brought along a few others from EMI, and he and they went back to the "powers that be" at EMI and sort of "strongly suggested" that EMI needed to re-release our first two records, which had been out of print for many years, and Rick's relentless persuasion made it all happen!

6. In this day and age it's famous for a band to record some live shows or put out some of the old videos on DVD, is that something that the band have considered on doing?
We've been approached about possibly doing a DVD of some of the upcoming live shows, and we have inquired with EMI about the possibility of re-releasing the Revved Up video (or on DVD), but so far, no deals have been made.
7. The band are heading over to Europe to play some live dates this summer, what are the bands expectation for that tour and how would the band describe it's European fans who's been following the band through it's history, compared to it's American fans, are the European fans more devoted fans?
Yes, actually the European fans ROCK and have always been more supportive of the band since the very beginning!! We are VERY MUCH looking forward to our upcoming tour in Europe!!!
8. What's the bands personal point of view on the music industry, as it's seen today on MTV & heard on the mainstream radio stations and how the major labels are treating their artists/bands?
It's a different industry today, than it was back in the late 80's and 90's and I think bands have become smarter business-wise, and are not going to let the fact that they might not get signed by a major label, stop them or even slow them down, and that's a good thing!! It's great to not feel "doomed", just because you don't get "signed" these days...there are MANY more options for selling your own records, etc. these days and thank God for that!!
9. What's the current future plans for the band, at this moment in life and are there any more live dates from the band than the once that's already been posted?
The current plans are to finish our new record as soon as we can - all the songs are written, and we are currently recording, and also to tour as much as possible starting in June! We keep getting more new dates added every week, and will be trying to keep our show dates updated on our website (www.vixenrock.com) as much as possible!
10. Any last words to the fans/people out there here in the end?
THANKS a MILLION to all the very loyal fans who have supported the band in the past, and for also continuing to support the new lineup!!! We can't wait to visit and tour Europe and are very much looking forward to this upcoming tour!! See you all on the road very soon!!!
Much peace, love, and ROCK & ROLL!!!
