Jealousy Curve

1. When were Jealousy Curve formed as a band and how did you all get to know each other in the first place and tell us about the members of the band?
We formed in March 2003... we have known each other from different bands around Philadelphia. Steve plays guitar, Michael sings, Mike plays bass and Shane plays drums.
2. Who have been the bands main influence musical and where do the band get it's ideas for the lyrics, are they taken out of everyday and personal experience?
We are influenced by all music, life, love , loss. A song can come from anywhere, though lately we are just jamming free form at rehearsal and writing that way.
3. The band have just released it's debut album, Life As An Addict. Has it been a challengend for the band to write and record this album and are the band happy with the overall result so far or are there things the band would have liked to done otherwise?
We have been so fortunate with our album. We made it in our house, and the response has been tremendous. There are certain things with the mix that bug me personally, but that could be because I mixed it. :)
4. Has there been any interest from any record labels for the band from Japan and Europe?
There has been a bunch of interest. We have been a very fortunate band. We are going to make another record regardless of whether it is with the help of a label or not.
5. Could the band tell us a little about the tracks featuring on the up and coming album, and what's the bands personal favorite track to play live?
The new album is shaping up nicely. We have a bunch of new songs, and even more ideas that need to be completed. It is the best music we have ever written. Our favorite track to play live right now from the record is "Selfish Thing".
6. What's the bands personal point of view on todays music industry and the general music scene as it's seen on MTV and heard on the mainstream radio stations?
The music industry today is so image driven. This is in line with society in general, and it is sad. There are so many great bands and artists that will never get the attention they deserve because they do not fit into the cookie-cutter mold of today.
7. Hows the local area where the band hails from when it comes to get gigs to play and get played on the local radio stations?
We are from Philadelphia, PA and the music scene here is phenomenal with great bands. We feel honored to be here. We have been so fortunate to have great support from the press and local radio, namely our hometown rock station WMMR. They have been so great to us.
8. What's been the bands best moments in it's short time of existence and so far do the band itself feel it's been a struggle to get to where the band is now?
The tour we did with The All-American Rejects and The Academy Is... was a blast and we met so many nice people. Playing Los Angeles at The Wiltern Theatre on December 2nd was a great moment. It has been an intense struggle, but one we have welcomed. We know it is going to get much harder.
9. What does the future holds for the band at this moment in time, any plans of touring in the progress and what about new material?
We have been touring steadily for months. We are looking to enjoy 3 weeks off at the beginning of April to write and record, then plan to go back out for a new tour on April 30th.
10. Any last words to the fans/people out there here in the end?
